Every Moment Helps Us Grow
More Than A Job
Every person starts somewhere, and with the right support, small beginnings can grow into something extraordinary.
At Scraps & Skeins, customers see fabric, yarn, craft supplies, and a bustling creative reuse store. For the people who work there, something much bigger happens.
One employee described Scraps & Skeins as a safe place.
"This is a safe spot for me. I struggle with social anxiety, but this job gives me the confidence to interact." The employee went on to explain that without the job, they would not be as engaged in the community. Feeling needed matters, too. It provides motivation to get up and go to work.
Another reflection captures how far that impact reaches: "Everything that happens here reflects on my life outside."
That is why employment matters.
A job can build skills. It can create friendships. It can provide routine and purpose. It can help someone discover what they are capable of. Growth often begins with the right environment. For this employee, Scraps & Skeins has become a place where confidence can grow, connections can form, and new possibilities can take root.
This is a Moment That Matters.
The confidence grows outward. Much of what makes that growth possible happens beneath the surface.
Your gift will help us grow something meaningful together.
