Strawberry Fields, Inc. is proud to announce that we are participating in an important statewide initiative aimed at raising the standards for services that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This effort—led by the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP)—introduces a new performance-based approach to how the state contracts with providers like Strawberry Fields. Known as Selective Contracting with Pay-for-Performance, the initiative aims to enhance service quality by prioritizing outcomes, establishing a class of “Preferred Providers,” and strengthening Pennsylvania’s long-term care system.
It’s important to know that the state licenses our intellectual and developmental disability services through ODP. Our services already operate under a rigorous regulatory framework, including an annual licensure review that ensures we meet key quality standards and maintain strong oversight. Selective contracting is one more element of this commitment to quality—a way to further align funding with results and innovation.
Over the past year, Strawberry Fields has worked diligently to assess and enhance our systems in preparation for our application to be a preferred provider. The new model focuses on areas like service continuity, workforce strength, and support for individuals with complex needs. Our partnership with Devereux strengthens our position by expanding access to clinical and behavioral specialists, further enhancing the care we provide.
While the state’s approach is evolving, our mission remains constant: to empower individuals and enrich lives. We believe every person deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, supported by family, friends, and a caring community. This new direction from ODP supports our continuous improvement and aligns with our long-held values of excellence, self-determination, and person-centered care.
