I am pleased to share that our summer activities are in full swing! Our consumers have already enjoyed participating in the Summer Olympics Games and the Letterman Bowl-A-Thon. We also just held our annual summer picnic at Spring Creek Park on July 18th. This beloved summer tradition brings together all our Intellectual Disability residential programs.
Another season highlight was our annual Strawberry Fields Spikes Night, where staff and consumers from across all service lines came together for an evening at the ballpark. The night was even more special when our very own Patrick Northup-Moore had the honor of throwing out the first pitch and the crew joined in for the 7th inning stretch, adding to the excitement of the evening.
We are also pleased to announce that the State budget for FY24-25 has been approved. It features an average 7 percent rate increase and substantial investments to enhance the quality of life for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. This budget also provides essential support to the direct support professionals who play a critical role in their care. These financial commitments represent a significant investment in the infrastructure that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, directly contributing to their ability to lead fulfilling lives within their communities. This is also important as we continue to struggle with staffing our homes during a nationwide workforce crisis.
Thank you for all your advocacy and support in helping to pass this budget. Your efforts have been instrumental in this critical step forward.
