You Are Invited to Celebrate 10 Years of Scraps & Skeins at the Fiber Arts Showcase

Scraps & Skeins invites the community to celebrate a decade of creativity, sustainability, and purpose at its 10th Anniversary Fiber Arts Showcase. The event will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Toftrees Golf Resort, located at 1 Country Club Lane in State College.

The showcase will feature a vibrant collection of handcrafted pieces—quilts, sewn items, knitting, crocheting, and needlework—all created incorporating materials originally purchased from Scraps & Skeins. Each piece reflects the unique intersection of creativity and purpose that defines the shop’s mission: giving new life to donated materials and celebrating the artistry of reuse.

For the past ten years, Scraps & Skeins has been more than a fiber arts resale shop. It has provided meaningful employment for individuals living with autism, intellectual disabilities, and mental health challenges. It has given makers access to affordable, beautifully arranged creative materials. It has served as an outlet for crafters to share surplus supplies—and helped keep reusable textiles out of the landfill. Most of all, Scraps & Skeins is where purpose, creativity, and sustainability come together—beautifully.

The event is free and open to the public, with no RSVP required. Visitors are welcome to drop in anytime between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. to view the exhibits, meet the artists, and support Scraps & Skeins’ mission.
