A Chilly Night But a Warm Gathering

On the final evening of May, Bruce and Susan Heim once again welcomed guests to their home for Strawberry Fields’ Summer Garden Party. Despite the cool weather, the evening carried a sense of warmth—through conversation, community, and shared purpose. This year’s Japanese Zen Garden theme created a beautiful backdrop for the gathering.
This special evening wouldn’t have been possible without Bruce and Susan’s generosity in opening their home or without Janet Egerer, whose tireless efforts and creative vision shaped every detail of the event. You could see Janet's care and heart in every corner of the night.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and guests, this year’s event set new records for attendance, sponsorship, and funds raised—bringing in more than $150,000 to support Good Day Café. Good Day Café currently provides supported employment to 17 individuals with disabilities, offering more than just a job. It’s a place to grow skills, build confidence, and experience the dignity and connection that come from meaningful work.
To everyone who contributed—thank you. You are helping to ensure that Good Day Café remains a place of opportunity.
