As we eagerly anticipate the summer months ahead, we look forward to warmer weather, outdoor activities, and engaging events with our staff and residents.
Over the past few months, several individuals have actively participated in Special Olympics events. In March, two individuals proudly represented Strawberry Fields at the state bowling tournament in Lancaster. Others have been training and competing in Track and Field, all ending with the Pennsylvania State Games at Penn State University—a highlight event of the season.
Looking ahead, we’re planning several fun summer activities, including the (SFI) Night at the Spikes and our Annual ID Summer Picnic, both scheduled for July.
We submitted our application to the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) for Performance-Based Contracting (PBC) in February. We will begin in the Primary Tier as submitted, with our PBC assignment starting on July 1, 2025. We remain committed to enhancing our services and performance standards with the goal of applying for the Select Tier in 2026.
In support of staff development, our frontline supervisors and a select group of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) have begun the NADSP Credentialing eBadge Program. The process is progressing successfully, and our aim is to have all participating staff credentialed by the end of the year.
Our recently hired Nutritionist Consultant has started working with both individuals and staff across our programs. She collaborates with team members—including the individuals themselves—to create customized weekly menus, recipes, and shopping lists tailored to each program’s needs.
You may have received recent emails from Madison featuring updates and resources from the PA Family Network. We will continue to share valuable information from the Network as we receive it. Additionally, we are planning another Family Forum meeting—please stay tuned for the upcoming date.
We wish you a safe, enjoyable, and healthy summer. Thank you for your continued support of Strawberry Fields, your loved one, and our shared mission.

I appreciated the transparency in this update and the clear focus on progress, partnerships, and operational goals for the spring and summer period. Updates like this show how much planning and coordination go into keeping an organisation moving forward. I always notice that strong leadership messages align vision with practical execution on the ground. In many industries, that execution depends heavily on reliable facilities, efficient workflows, and the right equipment supporting teams day to day. That’s one of the reasons Metro Sales Inc stands out to me, with its emphasis on industrial supplies, material handling, and quality products that help organisations stay consistent, organised, and ready to grow during busy seasons.
