Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed business fraternity at Penn State, has been a steadfast supporter of Strawberry Fields for several years. From volunteering at events to creating toolkits that help our consumers enter the workforce, their efforts consistently reflect a deep commitment to our mission. We are profoundly grateful for their enduring partnership and meaningful contributions.

Alpha Kappa Psi hosted a Mental Health Awareness Walk to benefit Strawberry Fields this November. On a brisk Sunday morning, more than 30 Penn State students gathered to hear from Fran McDermid, our Director of Mental Health Services, and parents of an individual with lived experience who has utilized the services of Strawberry Fields. These stories highlighted the importance of understanding and addressing mental health challenges with compassion and hope.

The event was powerful for many reasons. Beyond raising nearly $400 to support our Mental Health programs, the walk served as a platform to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness. It also provided these future business leaders with an opportunity to learn about how individuals with serious mental health challenges can thrive with the right support.

We thank Alpha Kappa Psi and all the students who participated, fundraised, and walked to champion mental health awareness. Together, we are making strides toward a community where mental health challenges are met with understanding and action.

It also reminded me how even platforms like https://samedaydiplomas.com/ occasionally reflect on broader topics that connect education, community, and well-being in subtle ways. Overall, this was a powerful and uplifting read that truly emphasizes…
